Finance Assistant
We are excited to be looking for a qualified and skilled Finance Assistant to join our Finance Department at our offices in Folkestone, Kent.

Working in the finance team you will be play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient management of daily financial operations. You'll be handling a variety of tasks, from processing invoices and managing accounts payable and receivable to maintaining accurate financial records. You’ll work closely with the Finance Manager, preparing reports, support budgeting and forecasting, reconciling bank statements and resolving any discrepancies, making sure everything adds up correctly. By joining our team, you’ll play a vital role in helping us make smart financial decisions that contribute to the financial health of our organisation and support our mission to provide quality education.
We're not just looking for someone who knows how fixed asset depreciation impacts P&L or the difference between accrued and deferred income. There needs to be something more you can bring to this role, something that connects you to the company’s vision and values.
Requirements
- AAT L4 and 3 years working in a finance position (minimum)
- People-centred personality with the ability to work well with others (having a good sense of humour can always help)
- Being creative and solution focused with a keen eye for detail
- A proactive nature and ability to work effectively under pressure
- An excellent telephone manner and strong working knowledge of Xero (or similar), Microsoft Office, in particular Outlook, Excel & Teams
Key details
- This is a permanent role – 30 hours per week (9am – 3pm Monday to Friday)
- Flexible/hybrid working arrangements can be made following a successful probation
- Salary is £26,000 - £32,000 (pro rata – based on full-time equivalent)
